Each Olla Ball acts as an emitter, buried under or near a plant’s root system, creating an osmotic field of moisture underground. This allows plants to take exactly what they need, saving up to 81% of water compared with traditional drip systems.

By keeping topsoil dry, the Olla Ball reduces weed growth and limits unwanted insect populations. The system is gravity-fed: the reservoir is connected to a water supply line, filling the Olla Balls continuously, while the roots absorb moisture at their own pace.

Installation is simple: bury the Olla Balls and plant directly on top. The compact design makes it easy to inspect roots, rotate plants, or remove for seasonal garden adjustments. Each ceramic ball is handcrafted from durably fired, domestically sourced terra cotta clay, ensuring long-lasting performance.
